DAVID B. HOUGH
David B. Hough, is a seasoned financial executive with more than 20-years experience. Mr Hough has originated, structured and underwritten more than $10B of financings for multiple international financial institutions. Throughout his career, Mr. Hough’s expertise has been in the structuring of transactions involving new issuers and emerging asset classes. Mr. Hough has advised and financed numerous mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations, divestitures and spin-offs across multiple industry sectors. Mr. Hough has invested more than $1.5B of media & entertainment related transactions, including: Melrose Partners I and II, Dune Entertainment, Blowtorch Entertainment, Gun Hill Road I & II, DreamWorks, DreamWorks Animation, Marvel Entertainment, Village Roadshow and Crown Media.
In 2010, Mr. Hough founded Hough Consulting, a multi-disciplined advisor to issuers and investors throughout the alternative investments marketplace. Hough Consulting provides advisory services, business plan consulting and fundraising expertise to clients in industries including: specialty finance, media & entertainment, oil & gas, defense, manufacturing, internet & social media, business services and insurance.
Prior to the founding of Hough Consulting, Mr. Hough was responsible for the successful origination, structuring and portfolio management of over $250 million AUM on behalf of the various Funds managed by PBL Capital, a multi-strategy alternative investment hedge fund.
Before joining PBL Capital, Mr. Hough was with WestLB AG, responsible for all new-issuer and new-asset structured transactions. In addition to building and managing a diverse portfolio of more than $3B of capital commitments, Mr. Hough established and ran the bank’s life insurance finance business. During this time, Mr. Hough was a founding board member of the Institutional Longevity Markets Association, an international trade association established to promote institutional best practices in the longevity and mortality-related marketplace.
Mr. Hough also held positions with Swiss Re Capital Markets, CAK Universal Credit Corporation, The Bank of New York, and JP Morgan.
Mr. Hough graduated from Bucknell University with Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Economics.
